So, it’s been a while since I’ve put up some new music. For months I was working on my live show for the recent Japan tour. Now I’m back to production, working steadily on finishing my next album. It might be a while before it’s released, so here’s something for the meantime. The raps are by Providence-based rapper, Prolyphic and this remix was made for a contest held by his label, Strange Famous Records. If you dig this, I would highly recommend “The Ugly Truth,” a collaboration album between Prolyphic and one of my favorite hip-hop producers, Reanimator. This isn’t an official remix, unless I happen to win. Check it:

Nujabes, famous Japanese hip-hop super producer and owner of Hydeout Productions record label, has just released Hydeout Second Collection, the much anticipated follow-up to 2003’s First Collection. Once again, Nujabes has pieced together a brilliant selection of head-nodding grooves, capturing the unique sound of Japan’s vibrant underground hip-hop scene. This heavily jazz-influenced, largely instrumental album features new songs and remixes by Nujabes and company, as well the most recent addition to the label, producer Emancipator.
