Back from Japan Tour
November 9, 2008
I’ve been meaning to post here about the Japan tour since I got home a month ago and I’m finally getting around to it. Many thanks are owed to Puma Japan and Redbook for inviting me out there and promoting this tour so well. Loads of cool cats among their ranks. Many thanks to Japan for being such a dope country with delicious noodles, fast trains, loyal fans, monster soundsystems, beautiful temples, and excellent music. I hope to see you again soon. Many thanks to the mysterious Nujabes for his hospitality and Hydeout Productions for bringing my music out there in the first place. Thanks to labelmate and future collaborator Uyama Hiroto for the jam session. Thanks to the legion of talented musicians I was able to share the stage with (Ge-ology, DJ Taninaka, Sound Market Crew, Hermitude, and all the rest). Arigato!
Please check out the tour blog written by my girlfriend Adrianne for a more in-depth personal account of the entire tour. You will find loads of pictures and links to even more pictures.

hey hey
after listening to Shook, I wanted to recommend two tracks that I think you’d like (if you don’t already know them):
1. Dangermouse – “Top Billin”, off Early Years EP.
What you do on Shook reminds me of what he did by putting Audio Two over Air. Nice work.
2. Telepopmusik – Don’t Look Back (Anti-pop vs Neil Mclellan Remix)
downtempo but a little on the headnodic side. Telepopmusik is a French edm trio, with Anti-pop being one of the members. He does good work, showing a diverse set of remixing.

Any plans to release your music commercially? I’d love to support you, but I can’t find anyplace to buy your songs. Any chance you’d accept a Paypal donation in exchange for a CD or .flac files?

Hey man, I wish you would post some new stuff about your life and music. I loved the tour blog your gf made. I was so jazzed when your stuff started playing on my pandora stations. I’ve been listening to your demo ever since you gave it to me at that house party right after you finished it. Keep it up. And Write SomeThing!

hey man, “soon it will be cold enough” is one of the most solid albums i have ever heard in my life, and i’ve become a big fan ever since. had i not picked up the hydeout productions sampler, i would have totally missed out.
i put together a mixtape including 2 of your tracks “With Rainy Eyes” & “Good Knight” (i listen to both like a single track)… i hope you don’t mind. not making money off of it, just sharing some of your brilliance.
thought i’d let you know.
the post is here: http://ls.vexed.ca/wordpress/2009/04/new-mixtape/
(if you want me to take the tracks off, lemme know)
